Abdominal Therapy is a technique that is suitable for every human with an abdomen and pelvis. It is an external massage, stimulating essential aterial and venal blood flow throughout the body.
This technique is based on the teachings of Dr Rosita Arvigo (Napropath, Herbalist and traditional healer) and the Maya shamans and healers of Belize such as Don Elijio Panti and Miss Hortence Robinson.
The basic concept of Abdominal Therapy is to create homeostasis and correct haemodynamics, where we must have unrestricted blood flow through the body, into all our organs, cells and tissues. We place emphasis on the following key areas through our massage such as Nerves, Arteries, Veins, Energy and Lymph systems.
We work deeply but very gently, with the ebb and flow of your breath soothing your Nervous System. Many people often report a release of tension, emotions, fears and traumas. The massage. Abdominal therapy can support you on your journey through fertility and assisted conception, menstrual health, uterine health (fibroids, endometriosis, prolapse) journey through peri menopause and menopause, circulation health, digestive wellbeing, lymphatic flow and it can also be releasing for those scars and adhesions following casesarian birth, and hysterectomy by releasing scar tissue and adhesions.
Dr Rosita Arvigo dedicated many years learning from and working with her local community in Belize, as an apprentice for Don Elijio Panti and midwife Miss Hortence Robinson. The techniques used today are a combination of those taught by the Maya lineage and additions from Dr Arvigo’s work as a doctor in Napropathy and Herbalist
Abdominal Therapy incorporates education on your health to support and empower you. We provide guidance on how to do ‘Your Abdominal Massage’ as part of your daily routine to support our sessions and the connection within your own body.
We also offer supporting information on using castor oil packs, perineum steaming (herbal Bajos), using a faja, rainforest remedies tinctures and tonics as formulated by Dr Rosita Arvigo herself, and adopting basic grounding activities to bring you further into balance and you integrate this inner alchemy.
What can I expect at an appointment?
A detailed consultation will be conducted (you will be sent this ahead of time). We will have an in depth discussion to outline your specific needs and then we will conduct the abdominal massage on the abdomen, pelvic area, sacrum, hips or legs. The teaching of the Your Abdominal Massage will follow this for all first appointments and you will receive appropriate supporting information.
Please note, it is recommended that you complete a course of 3 massage treatments – ideally one month apart.

All appointments are offered in person. First appointment is around 2 hours, this includes an in-depth consultation (this can also be conducted via zoom), massage and education on how to do ‘Your Abdominal Massage’. Further details can be found here.
